OakStone Health and Nutrition was founded by Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Samantha Turner in 2021. Samantha realized that there was a need for nutrition services in her community and wanted to be a part of helping her community become healthier. Along with having her dietitian credential, Samantha also has her Masters in Public Health (MPH) and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).

She is passionate about helping others improve their health by giving them the resources and ability to choose healthier food choices. Samantha likes working with individuals in 1:1 counseling sessions providing Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to help them gain the confidence they need to achieve their nutrition goals. Samantha is also passionate about working in corporate wellness to improve worker productivity and promote a healthy work environment for all businesses.

Samantha is a native to the southwest Virginia area and grew up on southern cuisine. Although she will not turn down a breakfast of biscuits and tomato gravy made by her great grandpa, she enjoys eating healthier foods, as well. Samantha finds joy in helping people find balance in their nutrition. She believes people shouldn’t have to give up the foods they love eating.

Samantha works hard alongside her clients to help create a plan that includes foods they enjoy eating and healthier alternatives so that they are getting the nutrients they need to improve their health. Her goals for each person she works with is to give them the tools they need to improve their nutrition and live a happy, healthy life. Samantha built OakStone Health and Nutrition on the principles of the core values she lives daily, and her passion for helping people build sustainable, healthy lifestyles!
